This program is an introduction computing skills, introduction to Python, you'll practice DataTypes, as well as creating and inspecting variables. Students will be introduced to operator playgrounds, learn functions using PY Turtle Module, build games (Bounce! and Race) using loops, conditionals and functions. There will be a Mini Final Project: Guess the Number Game/Solar System and more! There will also be Unplugged Activities as well!
Classes will be held via Zoom!
Goals & Objectives:
eScout Academy's courses focus on building creativity through interactive exercises, social-emotional intelligence, peer-peer learning, working in a group environment, design thinking, developing the mathematical thinker, and real-world problem-solvers.
Who is eScount Academy?
eScout Academy offers After-school programs to elementary through middle school students related to computing and learn the basics of Science and Physical computing (STEM), Animation & Building games like Minecraft, Lego Robotics concepts, and creating games using Python for middle school students. The course consists of different themed activities like art, music, storytelling, interactive games, science experiments to inspire and engage students towards technology, and "making STEM fun and real."
PLEASE NOTE: As of March 7th, the Town of Sudbury no longer requires masks while inside Town Buildings, including the Fairbank Community Center. Wearing a mask is at the discretion of the program participant.
Refund Policy
* Refund requests must be made using our Refund Request Form, found on our website under General/Department information.
* Refund requests that are dated and submitted on or before the start of the program, January 24, 2023 will be assessed a $10 withdrawal fee. After the program begins, January 24th, no refunds will be granted.
