About the Program
The Middle School Wachusett Ski Club provides students with a safe, fun, and structured way to ski with friends this winter. Each week, buses depart directly from Curtis Middle School at dismissal, with staff and volunteers supervising attendance, transportation, and on-site coordination.
- Ski equipment drop-off available Sat (9 AM–12 PM), Sun (9 AM–12 PM), or Mon (6 AM–1 PM) at Fairbank.
- Equipment is pre-loaded on buses before student pick-up.
- We have rented a large function room at Wachusett for meals, bag storage, and staff check-ins.
- Return drop-off at Fairbank Community Center by 8:30 PM at Haskell Field parking lot. Please arrive by 8:15 PM.
Registration Process
- Step 1: Register with Sudbury Parks & Recreation and pay the bus/supervision fee.
- Step 2: After registering, you will receive an email with a link and code for Wachusett’s School Group site. If you don’t see it, check spam or contact Brent.
- Step 3: Use the code to purchase your 6-week Lift Badge:
- $195 if purchased by Dec 1, 2025
- $225 if purchased after Dec 1 (final deadline Dec 5, 2025)
- This fee goes directly to Wachusett Mountain.
- Optional: Consider a “COW Card” — Wachusett’s debit-style card for food & gear.
**Lift Ticket Deadline Reminder
All lift badges must be purchased by December 5, 2025. No exceptions. If you miss this deadline, your spot will be forfeited unless you purchase a Wachusett season pass.
Important Notes
- No Lessons: Do not purchase lessons through Wachusett. Timing does not allow us to accommodate them.
- Rentals: Please secure seasonal rentals from outside vendors. Weekly rentals at Wachusett take away significant ski time.
- Attendance: Staff and volunteers take attendance before boarding and supervise throughout the evening. Youth ski independently with friends; Wachusett Ski Patrol helps ensure safety on the mountain.
- Storage: Skis and boards are stored outside on racks. Bags and meals are kept in our reserved function room.
- Dinner: Can be brought or purchased from Wachusett Mountain's food court.
- Behavior: All participants must follow staff directions and mountain safety rules. Misconduct may result in dismissal from the program.
Pre-registration required. No walk-ins accepted. Limited to 100 participants. Register early to secure your spot!
Volunteer Chaperones Needed:
We’re looking for parent/guardian volunteers to help make Ski Club a success! Chaperones are needed both on the buses and at the mountain. You don’t need to ski to volunteer (though it’s a bonus if you do). Each registered chaperone receives a complimentary lift pass for the day. Bus-riding chaperones are especially encouraged.
