Sudbury Youth Volleyball Program

Description:
This foundational introduction to volleyball program is designed for 2nd-8th graders as a chance to learn the sport of volleyball in a fun, minimally competitive way focused on skill introduction and practice in a station based approach with lots of contacts on the ball. Coaches Heather, Dave, and Charles volleyballall Sudbury parents, are ex-collegiate level players and have coached the game at all levels. Your child will learn the basic skills and rules of volleyball, including how to pass (not bump!) set, hit (not spike!), and serve. We will also teach them movement exercises and games that introduce them to the rhythm, strategy, and joy of the game. No previous experience is necessary! The session will last six classes, your child will get 1-on-1 and small group coaching with a high energy, lots of movement, minimal downtime approach that will energize your child and share our love for this amazing game. Your child will also take home a Sudbury Youth Volleyball t-shirt and a volleyball (competitive style for middle schoolers and "volley-lite" for elementary kids) to allow them to practice at home and build on what they have learned. ONLY new players to the program will receive these items!

Why Join? This program offers a fantastic opportunity to learn the basics of volleyball, make new friends, and stay active during the winter months. It’s perfect for those looking to try a new sport or prepare for school teams.

Schedule:
Grades 2-5 4:00-4:55pm
Grades 6-8 5:00-5:55pm
Location: Fairbank Community Center Gym, 40 Fairbank Rd, Sudbury, MA.
Cost: $190R/$195NR (resident/non-resident)
Dates: 12/3, 12/10, 12/17, 1/7, 1/14, & 1/21 (6-class session)
Exclusion Dates: December 24, 2024, and December 31, 2024.

What to Bring: Participants should wear comfortable athletic clothing, sneakers, and bring a water bottle. All necessary equipment will be provided.
