Cancellation & Refund Policy
Clear guidelines for requesting cancellations and understanding refunds.
How to Request a Cancellation or Refund
No email needed. Submit your written request through MyRec using the Request Cancellation button.
  1. Log in to My Account
  2. Go to My Account → Registrations → Activities or Memberships
  3. Click Request Cancellation next to the program or membership name
  4. Use the text box to explain your request (this serves as your written request)
  5. Your request is reviewed by the Program Coordinator or Pool Supervisor
Processing time: Refunds are issued to the original payment method and may take up to 14 business days.

General Guidelines
  • Fees are per person, per session unless otherwise noted.
  • Refunds are subject to program type and timing.
  • Vendor-specific policies may override these guidelines.
  • Refunds are not issued for absences, snow days, missed days, late arrivals, fire alarms, building closures, or other unforeseen interruptions once a program begins.
Birthday Party Rentals
  • 14 or more days before the event: 5% cancellation fee
  • Within 14 days of the scheduled party: no refund
Sudbury Summer & Sudbury Adventure
Payment & Refund Policy
  • Payment plans begin in January. Balances must be paid in full before the first day of camp.
  • Jan 7 – Apr 24: $10 cancellation fee per child, per session
  • Apr 25 – May 31: $50 cancellation fee per child, per session
  • No refunds after May 31
  • Example: Canceling 3 sessions for 2 children = 6 cancellation fees
Basic School-Year Programs (Fall, Winter, Spring)
  • 7 or more days before start: 5% cancellation fee
  • Within 7 days: no refund
  • This policy does not apply to Wild Wednesday, LEGO Club, or Ski Club.
Special Programs – 21-Day Cancellation Policy
Red Cross CPR/First Aid Trainings, February & April Vacation Programs, Early Release Day Programs (including LEGO Club)
  • 21 or more days before start: 5% cancellation fee
  • Within 21 days: no refund
Ski Club
  • $10 cancellation fee per child after registration
  • No refunds after October 31
  • After October 31, refunds will only be issued if we can fill your spot. 
Aquatics
  • American Red Cross Swim & Lifeguard Lessons (outside vendor): no refunds. Contact the vendor directly if you registered with them.
  • On-site swim lessons are managed directly by the provider. Participants must contact the provider directly for cancellations or changes.
Family / Lap Lane & Dive Well Use (Public Access)
  • Must cancel at least 24 hours in advance to receive an account credit on your MyRec account.
  • Refunds are not issued for these activities.
  • All requests must be submitted using the Request Cancellation button in your account.
  • Go to My Account>scroll down and find Registrations>click activities or memberships to view your cancel request options. 
Atkinson Pool Memberships
  • Pool memberships cannot be paused.
  • Memberships remain active through the end of the current paid month.
  • Medical exceptions require a doctor’s note for account credit consideration.
  • If approved, the membership will be pro-rated for unused time.
  • Submit all cancellations through your MyRec account.
  • Go to My Account>scroll down and find Registrations>memberships to view your cancellation request options. 
Pickleball Membership Cancellations (Full-Season)
  • A 5% cancellation fee is deducted from the total fee paid.
  • $52 per month is charged for each month the membership was active. Partial months count as full months.
  • Example: Membership Fee $300; 5% = $15; Active 2.4 months → 3 × $52 = $156; Total Deductions = $171; Refund Issued = $129.
  • Go to My Account>scroll down and find Registrations>memberships to view your cancellation request options. 
Pickleball Monthly Memberships (Recurring)
  • Monthly recurring Pickleball memberships may be canceled at any time.
  • There is no cancellation fee for recurring memberships.
  • Members may continue to play through the end of their current paid month.
  • Cancellations must be submitted at least one (1) week before the next scheduled renewal to avoid being charged for the following month.
  • All cancellations must be submitted through your MyRec account.
  • Go to My Account>scroll down and find Registrations>memberships to view your cancellation request options. 
Program Cancellations by Sudbury Parks & Recreation
  • If a program is cancelled by Parks & Recreation due to low enrollment or other factors, a 100% refund will be issued automatically. No action required.
Additional Information
This policy is subject to change for programs that require specific staffing ratios, safety supervision, or vendor-based coordination. Sudbury Parks, Recreation & Atkinson Pool will do our best to update and communicate any program-specific changes as they occur.
